On behalf of the business community, DCCI requests immediate steps to restore law and order in Dhaka City and around the country.
DCCI urges immediate formation and declaration of the interim Government in a lawfull manner to contain the current law and order and economic harms. We request all concerned to take necessary measures to this end. We believe interim government is a must to restore democratic election process and hand the country back to its people and its elected representatives.
In the wake of recent political unrest and challenges, Dhaka Chamber underscores the urgent need for quick revival of law and order and request all necessary actin to restore normal economic activities as soon as possible.
The nationwide economic operations have been significantly hampered. In this regard, immediate measures are essential to restore the law and order condition to recover from the significant damage. The recent events have taken a large toll on our lives and economy, disrupting living and economic conditions. Unless measures are effective, supply chain disruptions will cause further damage and add to public suffering.
It is imperative that economic operations resume at the fullest extent for the greater interest of the nation. The private sector, the key driver of the economy, requires prompt and substantial supports to overcome the setbacks caused by recent disruptions. Addressing the law, order and economic stability are immediate and utmost priorities in the country.
Moving forward, a conducive environment must be established to facilitate economic recovery featured by political and regulatory certainty. By fostering a stable political environment, we can rebuild our businesses’ confidence and activities in home and abroad. We call for collective efforts from all stakeholders including imminent interim Government, private sector and political parties to mitigate the impact of recent loss and damages through a rigorous and sustainable economic recovery process.
Dhaka Chamber is also committed to work closely with all relevant stakeholders including the next interim government and others through coordinated endeavors to end the current headwinds for the much-needed prosperity of the nation.
