DCCI Business Institute (DBI) is going to organize an In-Person Daylong Training on ‘Inventory Control and Effective Store Management’, scheduled to be held on 26th August 2022 from 10:00 am - 5:30 pm at DBI, Dhaka Chamber Building (11th floor), 65-66 Motijheel C/A, Dhaka-1000.
Topic Overview in Brief: An organization's inventory can appear a mixed blessing since it counts as an asset on the balance sheet, but it also ties up money that could serve other purposes and requires additional expense for its protection. Besides, enterprises sometimes make store or warehouse without doing proper analysis and thus some portion of that store or warehouse remains unutilized. Effective Inventory and Store Management is inevitable for today’s competitive business world. Please keep in mind, “It is easy to turn Cash into Inventory, but the challenge is to turn Inventory into Cash”.
Objective: The objective of the course is to familiarize the participants with modern management principles and techniques to increase the effectiveness of professionals, engaged in inventory and store management in order to promote higher productivity; reduce inventory cost and develop an effective Inventory Control System for overall improvement of the organization.
Contents: Overview of Inventory Management, Types and Stages of Inventory, Inventory in Working Capital Cycle, Inventory Replenishing System, Lead-time Management, Inventory Categorization, Inventory Valuation System, Inventory Checking, Inventory Coding System, Inventory Turnover, Safety Stock, and Inventory Operations. Overview of Store Management, Warehousing and Layout of a Storehouse, Storage System, Storekeeping, Material Handling, Safety and Security of Stores, Record Management of the Store, Question & Answer Session.
Who Can Attend: Persons with a background in Store and Inventory Management; Material Management, Purchase Managers/Officers and Planning Managers and Production/ Operations Managers employed in Private Sector, Govt. Semi-Govt. and Non-Govt. Organizations.
Facilitator: The facilitator of this training is Mr. Shankar Kumar Roy, Executive Director, Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA) and KPMG Advisory Services Ltd. He was employed as an Advisor (Research and Planning) at M.I. Cement Factory Ltd. (Crown Cement Group) till 30th June 2020. Before joining at Crown Cement Group, he had served at Holcim Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd for more than 16 years, holding the post of General Manager-Business Development. As a professional corporate trainer, he provides practical, interactive, and fun-filled activity-based training. He has conducted numerous training and has 15+ years of experience in training. His area of specialization in training includes Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Marketing & Sales, and various Soft Skills, etc. He was awarded as the ‘Trainer of the Year 2018’ recognition by International Trade Center, Geneva, Switzerland at a gala event in Beijing, China on 1st November 2018.
